How can we help?

Answers about accounts, syncing, purchases and your data. Can’t find what you need? Email plato@harbisongroup.com.

Do I need an account?

No, accounts are optional. Without one, everything you save stays on your iPhone. If you want your recipes, journal and photos on more than one device, sign in with Apple to create a private account.

How does sync work?

When you’re signed in, Plato keeps your custom recipes, journal entries, ratings, notes, photos, saved recipes, cooking progress and preferences in your private account, and brings them to every device where you sign in. Changes you make offline sync the next time you’re connected. To sync right away, open Settings → Account and tap Sync Now.

How do I restore my purchases?

Premium recipes and collections are one-time purchases made through the App Store. They belong to your Apple Account, so they don’t depend on a Plato account. To get them back on a new iPhone or after reinstalling Plato:

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you used to buy them.
  2. In Plato, open Settings and tap Restore Purchases.

If a purchase still doesn’t appear, check your purchase history in the App Store before buying again. Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your Plato account and everything synced to it, including your custom recipes, journal entries, notes, ratings and photos, and removes the account’s copy from that iPhone. It can’t be undone, so export your data first if you want a copy.

Can’t get into the app? Email us from the address on your account and we’ll help you delete it.

How do I export my data?

Open Settings and tap Export My Cooking Data. Plato creates a ZIP file with your recipes, journal, cooking progress, preferences and photos that you can save to Files or share. If you use more than one device, sync first so the export includes your latest changes. The export is your personal copy; Plato doesn’t import these files.

How do timers and notifications work?

When a step has a timer, start it right on the card. Timers keep running if you switch apps or lock your iPhone, and a finished timer is your cue to check the food, not a guarantee that it’s done.

If you allow notifications, Plato alerts you when a timer finishes. That’s the only thing Plato uses notifications for. Not getting alerts? Open the iPhone Settings app, go to Notifications → Plato and turn on Allow Notifications. A Focus or Silent Mode can also hide or mute alerts.

Is my data private?

Yes. Other people can’t see your journal, notes or photos, and there are no public profiles or feeds. Plato has no ads and no tracking. The Privacy Policy has the details.
